Album Notes

Rick Kennedy has a style that is true Americana, a folk/rock singer/songwriter blending influences from pure country and classic rock with folk and hints of jazz and blues. A seasoned performer, Kennedy cut his teeth in college coffee shops before moving on to with regional bands, including Cleveland's Eli Radish and Colorado's Airborn. His stints on the road included touring and recording with David Allen Coe and appearances at musical festivals. More recently, Kennedy has concentrated on solo performance, songwriting and arrangements. His first music video was released in March 2006 and his newest CD, a retrospective of his original compositions, was released in July of 2007. A second CD and a new video project is currently in progress.

Kennedy has shared the stage opening for a diverse range of talent in the music industry, among them: Bob Seger, Hot Tuna, Canned Heat, Alice Cooper, Pure Prairie League, Dr. Hook, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John Mayall, Steve Goodman, David Crosby, Dr. John and Shanana. His performances have included well-known venues such as Cleveland’s Agora Theater , Cincinnati’s Taft Auditorium, Ludlow’s Garage, Indianapolis Arena, Nashville’s Broadway Barn, Studio in the Rockies and The Ford Amphitheater. He has played at music festivals around the country, from the Sober Musicians Picnic in Los Angeles to Strawberry Days in Carbondale, Colorado to the Frank Brown International Songwriter’s Festival.

More recently, Kennedy’s performances have included more intimate local appearances in clubs around the country, most recently in local haunts on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He is currently working on a new cd as well as a number of audio/visual projects. Kennedy will be featured in the third season of "New Music Showcase", an hour-long cable-produced program from Springfield, Ma dedicated to showcasing new musical talent.
