Album Notes

"Straight from the Heart" is what Rick McLemore, CEO of his own music publishing company, RMMusic Productions, Inc. describes as his smooth jazz funky guitar sound. Born in Richmond, Virginia, Rick embraced his music career at the age of 15 when an uncle gave him his first guitar.

He spent many hours listening to different genres of music and with determination and dedication to his instrument, taught himself how to play. He is also an accomplished bass guitarist. He began writing musical compositions creating his own original sound. His fresh and exciting music is influenced by his urban life experiences.

Rick then went on to receive formal music training in Richmond, Virginia and has performed alongside noted artists such as, The Drifters, Phyliss Hyman, Ken Navarro, Miles Jay, Bebe and Cece Winans, Troublefunk, Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers, Pieces of a Dream and gospel artists Helen Baylor and Candi Staton.

Rick's unique musical style is described as a jazz soul and funk fusion with his debut CD Project release titled, "Just Let Me Play."

Since the time I listened to George Benson's music, I love the warm sound of Gibson guitars. I am always pleased to discover a guitarist sharing my preferences. Rick McLemore is one of them. Rick performed alongside noted artists such as The Drifters, Phyliss Hyman, Ken Navarro, Miles Jay, Bebe and Cece Winans, Troublefunk, Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers, Pieces of a Dream and gospel artists Helen Baylor and Candi Staton. Rick plays an engaging style. His similarity to George Benson's music is observed by many listeners as one can read on Amazon's website. Fresh and smooth are the most cited attributes.
