ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Independent Boston area singer/songwriter/guitarist Rick Pisano has an intensity for his original music that is rarely heard. Pisano, with his gritty, sensual voice bursting with passion provides each listener with a lifetime's worth of emotional drama in each song. All of which he also meticulously arranged and produced on his highly entertaining album "Dawn of a Waking Man". Among many other accomplishments while acting as his own publicist, Mr. Pisano has been featured as the "BluesBreaker" on the nationally syndicated House of Blues Radio Hour Show with Dan Aykroyd, chosen directly by co-founder Lou Plaia of the acclaimed international music site "ReverbNation" to be a featured Blues artist, twice featured on the nationally syndicated Blues Deluxe Show from Texas with host Dave Johnson, featured in Elmore Music Magazine (New York) and on many terrestrial and internet radio stations worldwide.

This is a great CD! The tunes are fabulous, giving new life to the blues. "I Got the Fever" is my favorite. When is the next album coming out?

This Boston area singer/songwriter/guitarist has a lot going for his sound. A little Bruce, a little Cash, a little Neil D, and a whole lotta Pisano!! Great soul for all to feel!!

Heart & Soul
The blues are alive with this new cd from Rick Pisano. Moods change, but the heart and soul of the music and lyrics are understood comletely through Rick's interpretation. Bravo for sticking with what you love the most in life - music!

Just got through my second listening of this CD.
It's always good to hear a new artist making what should be a big splash. The recording is crisp and clean. The blues just roll on out!! What a great sound! Nothing amateur about this product.
I'm already looking forward to hearing more about this up and coming artist.

What's next?
A friend with similar musical tastes mentioned this CD to me. I figured what the heck I would go out and at least listen to the clips. I was intrigued enough that I decided to purchase it. I slapped the thing in my car stereo and listened to it a few times and each time I came away more impressed. The songs are so full and rich that it is hard to believe this is his first release. The CD is extremely well produced. You can feel the raw energy and emotion in his collection of blues and ballads. The lyrics flow so smoothly that I have found myself actually singing along with some of the songs. (Although with all due respect not very well) Well done RP and I will definitely be checking back looking for your next project.

Wow! What a surprise!
Stumbled upon this music by accident - i have my collection of vinyl, as well as cds that I rarely stray from. But this music was a great treat, I've always loved blues. Having been raised outside of Boston, I remember songs about "dirty water" and Pisano's song about Boston tells it like it is: what it's got and what it doesn't. His songs go from toe tapping, want to get up and dance type of music sung in his rough, bluesy yet eloquent voice, then gentle back down with his sweet soft cooing on "Newport Nights With You.". Great collection of bluesy music, a bit of Southern in there as well. Highly recommend this cd if you want a little bit of everything with your blues!

Boston Blues are Alive and Well.
Dawn of a Waking Man, the latest project by Boston area musician Rick Pisano is a straight ahead, no-nonsense blues album with such raucous intensity that it's just impossible to turn the album off without a full listen. The vortex of galvanized guitar, bass and drum work is loose yet energetic while Pisano's vocals are playful while staying true to blues form. From the bombastic "Ain't no such thing as the Boston Blues" to the soulful "Ain't got the Blues Since I Met You" reassures you that you're not listening to your fathers blues albums. The contemporary sound takes nothing away from the heart of the work and all ten tracks are in fine form. Wisely, every track performed on the album is written and produced by Pisano, which is a breath of fresh air as of late with many blues artists feeling inclined to add a Bumble Bee Slim or Robert Cray rendition on their album. The greasy glossy six-string work on 'Can't Get Enough" and "One Night in Montreal" will have you dusting off the ol' air guitar and "It Comes and Goes" will have you stomping your foot from the first chord. A truly enjoyable blues-rock album that will do your collection proud. Pick it up and get the party started.
