Rick Spreitzer is a Charlotte, NC singer-songwriter who describes his music as "tip jar americana steeped in common tones that dodges the lyrical middle ground." His first CD, "Meanderthal" was released in July 2002 and his sophomore effort, "Dirt Tracks" came out July 2004. He is gaining a reputation in the Charlotte-area as a songwriter of note, garnering praise from Michael Reno Harrell, David Childers and being named one of Charlotte's best singer-songwriters by Creative Loafing Magazine. His songs are often about what is lost, broken or out of reach. He shies away from the "big screen" mode of songwriting and prefers to find something meaningful and poignant in the small details of characters too often looked over or cast aside.
