Born and raised in North Mississippi, the musical influences are obvious from the Byrd's flavored sound of “Site for Sore Eyes” and the Beatlesque tone of "I Will Be Your Love" to the blend of Memphis soul in “World Gone Crazy”. Rick sings about life and death and the struggle to live between the two. The release of 1995’s “The Living Tree” for Needle Eye Records received great reviews from the Birmingham News and local critics. during this time Rick performed “I Put My Trust in You” and “Papa’s Prayer” in the EWTN program “Say Yes” with Dana (an Irish born singer/songwriter). Rick’s arrangements of Dana’s song “Croist Linn” gave him the chance to perform with renowned guitartist Phil Keaggy in the same series. Today rick performs solo and with the blues/rock band “Liturgical Autopsy”. He is also a member of George Vinson’s Project 150.

Rick's 'The Living Tree' still has plenty of life for a record released in 1995! As fresh today as the day it was recorded. I know this sounds a bit biased (I did help play and produce) but it really is a great record. I can't wait for the follow-up!! God bless ya, Rick...keep it going! GV Read more...
