Album Notes

“Fun first, Friends second, Band mates third” This is the design guideline that Ricochet Biscuit embraces. The convergence of 4 distinctly different musical foundations would be the end for most bands but for Ricochet Biscuit it is a starting point for exploration. Dynamic songs with 2 or more parts being woven together under a common theme is this bands blueprint for fun. All their songs possess an underlying rhythmical groove that bass player Ric Neil and drummer Brian Ochs lay down as solid underpinning for the dueling guitar voices of Evan Middlesworth and Brett Markle. This governance makes for seemingly endless combinations that lead to many different musical adventures for the band. Playing together for over two years these guys have established themselves as that unexplainable “get up and dance” rock/funk vibe that can’t be avoided. You will dance the night away at one of theirs shows as you listen to the mixture of powerful originals and catchy covers. These covers by Galactic, Tom Petty, Gomez, Curtis Mayfield, and the Meters are kneaded ever so slightly to reflect their “Biscuit” style. These biscuits are guaranteed fresh and tasty every meal.

Good things come to those who wait, and I've waited a long time for this album to come out. What a gem! I particularly enjoyed the flow of the music as I ventured from song to song on my way to work. Either I need to sojourn to Seattle to see these mugs live, or they need to rent a VW retro-fitted love van and tour the east coast. Great sound, awesome clarity, and great songwriting. -much love
