Breggett Rideau
the opportune time...
Breggett Rideau is a Jazz Artist whose time has come. The fact that she is a jazz singer does not limit the influence she has on her audience or her peers. It adds to the magic she creates at every performance. With the release of Breggett's debut CD-The Opportune Time-Breggett Rideau is coming out to make history-her way.
Breggett Rideau pronounced (Breg'-Get Rid-Doe), was born in New Orleans, a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science and worked as a Microbiologist for a number of years. Breggett's interest in jazz started when she was just 3 years old. Her father, being a jazz purist, had Nancy Wilson and Carmen McRae records playing day and night. With that kind of start, her encounter with stage and lights was inevitable.
Breggett's music background is as important to her as is the education she received at LSU. And in a short period of time and maximum effort Breggett is in demand well into 2005.
Now with the debut release of "The Opportune Time..." Breggett Rideau has garnered critical acclaim not only from local publications and internet sources, but also from international institutions. By the invitation of Dr. Gene Cho, Ph.D. Regents Professor University of North Texas and Hang Zhou Conservatory, Breggett will perform and lecture at Shanghai Conservatory, Shanghai, China in the spring of 2005. She will make history as the first woman of color / jazz artist from the United States to attend.
Breggett Rideau's horizon reaches far into the future. Her gifts are many and obviously in great demand. Listen to her song and journey in life. You will be forever blessed.
