Most musicians on the ascendancy would be shouting loudly about an Emmy nomination for one of their songs, but LA's Rie Sinclair almost shrugs hers off as a mark of recognition for work separate from her chosen field of singing/songwriting. Confused? You won't be. You see, by day she's in demand as a writer and performer of beautiful songs for Hollywood studios, providing atmosphere and emotion to back up the visuals. But by night she dons another cape, crafting her own elation and despair into perfected four-minute vignettes; she records and delivers them live with equal finesse and commitment. And despite already having two studio albums in the bag, her third, A Moment You Never Dreamed, is the one she considers her debut. And listening to her music you'll see how she's drawn inspiration from both mindsets: melodic cynicism in gee minor, ethereal earthiness, and guitar/synth moments aplenty. One day she's strumming in a Manchester ale house; a week later she's recording a song to be played on a Hollywood TV show like Californication, Ghost Whisperer, Law & Order or General Hospital, for which she has been Emmy nominated.

Rie's previous recorded projects include a solo studio album and a collaboration with ex-Eels, ex-Abandoned Pools genius Tommy Walter called Oliver the Penguin, but she considers A Moment You Never Dreamed her debut album.
