Ken Rieske is an accomplished musician-songwriter who has performed in the Connecticut area music scene for over thirty five years. Ken began his formal musical training at age seven with the accordion, and continued with the organ and piano. Later, he taught himself to play the guitar, the electric bass, and harmonica, and was a member of such popular area acts as The Blake Street Gut Band, Sundance, and The Wanderers. In addition to his solo work, Ken is currently one half of "Two Of Us", a popular area acoustic duo, and he has done studio musician work as well. He holds a degree in both music and mathematics, and is a member of the Connecticut Songwriters Association. Over the years Ken has won numerous awards for his musical and songwriting talents. He has placed in Billboard Magazine's Annual Contest, The Hollywood Song Jubilee, and The Unisong contest for some of the songs that are included on his CD. His debut solo CD,"Determination", consists of 14 original songs in a variety of musical styles from light rock to country and blues. Ken produced the CD and plays all the instruments, sometimes solo, and sometimes overdubbed as a "full band" sound. It showcases his abilities on all these instruments and also features his down to earth soulful vocals. Opening with a rock version of the title song, it then takes you through touching ballads, more light rock, and even blues moods, coming full circle to a solo piano version of "Determination" as a finale. The fruits of the many years Ken spent playing and singing in clubs and cafes have developed into a fine first solo effort. It's well worth the listen.
