Starkly contrasted against a musical landscape almost as barren as the deserts in West Texas, Austin's own Righteous Brisket is making a stand: against the boring, generic, disposable pop infesting our musical airwaves; against an obsolete music industry too bloated to keep up with the fast-changing, interconnected world where bands can distribute their music around the globe with just a click of a mouse.
Righteous Brisket is waving the independent banner proudly and high. Calling on their collective decades of experience playing in a whole truckload of bands and touring the southern region of the United States, they have grabbed the do-it-yourself bull by the horns and taken matters into their own hands. Booking and promoting their own shows, and producing and recording their own debut CD for Big Beard Records, Righteous Brisket is able to call their own shots and keep the pedal to the metal.
The Boss asked, "This is radio nowhere - is there anybody alive out there?" The answer from the Righteous Brisket camp is a resounding, "Hell yes!"
