Walking along this rutted terrain called life, down unfamiliar paths, knowing the Source of grace, feeling His strength, learning to trust… that’s Jolene Riley’s journey. Her road began deep in the heartland. From recording with her dad, mom and four brothers in their Nebraska basement to the sophistication of digital recording in the Southern California studio of John Andrew Schreiner, a common thread of worship prevails. Jolene’s talent and passion for music has resulted in performances as far as Europe, each one a tribute in her heart to the One whom she serves and credits to getting her to where she is in her new CD, “Journeyin’ On”. In her personal life, there have been distractions along the way like having kids, a failed marriage, the trials of being a single mom, loss, pain, grace... but she made it here. Jolene credits her relationship with Jesus for bringing her through it all and stirring in her heart the unique melodies of nine original songs that appear in ”Journeyin’ On”. The angelic sounds of praise around God’s throne blend voices as one in “At the Feet”. The longing of an intimate, spiritual relationship with Jesus Himself is voiced in “Whom Have I in Heaven” (Psalm 73:25). “He Who Dwells” (Psalm 91) gives melody to the peaceful security found in the shelter of the Almighty. Her desire is that the road she’s traveled will give encouragement and hope to one in need, “Oh, Savior, I am ready to do the work, to give, another road to travel, my hands to help one live. Oh, Savior, I am willing to do the work you need. Some other path to journey, some other hands to lead. Journeyin’ on.” That’s really what this path is all about, taking His love to help a hurting world so they can find that guiding hand and put their hope in God. "Look ahead to your purpose and trust in Him."
