Album Notes

Sarah Boucher and Jeff Stamp met in June 2001. They started to collaborate together musically shortly after this, and in 2002 came up with the name "Rings of June" for their band.
Boucher is a classically trained vocalist and pianist, with a deep appreciation for many different styles of music that she explores in and outside of her work. She started performing at an early age, and this eventually led to an interest in music theatre, where she recieved her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. Although Boucher's main interest has always been in the alternative/folk/rock music scene, she also has a love for electronic styles, celtic ballads, blues and opera that will likely influence her in future projects. Whether the music is intense or calming, this singer/songwriter shows emotional attachments to her songs through her wide vocal range and sensitive piano playing.
Stamp, coming from a different discipline of music, adds melodic minors, busy notes, distortion and sensual vibrations into his songs. He's experimented with many different sounds, and his diverse guitar playing is an outlet for his passion and potential.
Music companions Nathan Weatherdon, Nathan Beranger, and Ben Knight have since jumped into the cauldron of Rings of June, adding their eyes of newt and extra flavours to the mix.
Rings of June has created intense, passionate and emotional music for the listener. Whether they're playing as a full band with five members, or as a more intimate duo or trio, they never disappoint and always leave the audience wanting more. These artists speak from their hearts, and their music holds a genuine truth that connects with those who hear it.

Having known Sarah and Jeff since I was a kid, they have always astounded and impressed me with their music and vocal talent. This album is just one more example of that talent and I anxiously await more material that sooths the nerves, clears the mind, and relaxes the soul.

It is the understanding that this cd is just the beginning of some wonderful music. Having become quite familiar with the self titled album and seeing footage of live performances, I know that this is a great Rings Of June starter album, and that the wave of their vibrations to come will blow away the people with listening ears.
