Back in 1975 (in Mn) I was listening to some talented Southwest song writters like Guy Clark "Old No. 1" and Jerry Jeff Walker "Viva Terlingua" when a friend put on Jerry Riopelle "Take a Chance" and told me I'd like it. Well, it turned out to be one of my favorites and I really missed hearing the record when CD's took over my music libary. Now I have it again and it was worth $50 just to get "Take a Chance", the rest are just all a bonus for me. A great era of music history lives on once again with "The Works".

having attended over 10 of Jerry's new years eve shows at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, I was unfortunate to miss the brief release of his "in the round" recording nearly a decade ago. When I heard he was re-releasing it, well, anyone who went to even a couple of those shows understands the nostalgic value of his performances there. As to a review of the CD itself - it was well worth the wait! In fact, I've NEVER written a review of anything I've bought, ever! But this was a no-brainer for me. To the rest of the minions, all I can say is.......GO GET IT!

YAHOO…. A long time in coming, but definitely worth the wait! Some cuts from "In The Round" would have been nice for those of us who spent many New Years Eves at the Celebrity from 74 to the 80’s.
