Album Notes

Nat Ripepi calls Western Australia home, but has been making waves with her "gutsy, powerful and sexy" (The West Australian) music across Aussie shores and more recently across the UK where she resided and performed solidly for 3 years (2002 - 2004).

Nat is a multi award winning and consummate performer, who on the back of her debut LP release 'Universe’ has chalked up local independent chartings, song writing competition final placing’s and Western Australian Music Industry Award nominations (WAMIS) including most popular acoustic act and most popular female vocalist.

'Universe’ has been described as “beautifully polished and intoxicating” (West Side Observer) and Nat’s growing audience agrees with a sold out pressing as well as inclusion of several tracks on compilation albums.

As well as frequently performing her own gigs, Nat has supported many well-known international and Australian artists including Billy Bragg, The Waifs, Ben Folds Five, Luka Bloom, Ember Swift, Kate Ceberano, Deborah Conway, Tex Perkins, Jonathon Richmond, Mark Seymour, Tiddas and James Morrison.

Nat is happy to be back on WA’s sunny shores and is currently working on her long awaited next album, scheduled release early 2009 , as well as planning another overseas tour taking in not only the UK, but also Canada and North America.

What some reviewers have said....

“A stunning collection of skilfully crafted songs...will have the words 'tidal wave of talent’ inextricably linked with the performer.”
-XPRESS Magazine

“Her music instantly grabbed everyone’s attention; the sheer emotion and power that came from a single acoustic and voice was stunning. Nat has a voice and song-writing talent that should be granted a much larger stage.”
-www.healthyconcerts.com/reviews/ (UK)

“...soft and vulnerable, but at the same time gutsy, powerful and sexy...”
-The West Australian News Paper

“The set was a soulful expression of a collage of emotions in an eclectic group of styles from folk rock to out and out blusiness.”

Universe

One of those albums you can't help but keep playing. Spend my journeys to work singing along at the top of my voice (and looking silly whilst doing it!) A 'must buy', but another must is to see Nat live.
