Album Notes

RIPSPACER III is a modern rock & roll album in the truest sense of the genre that the albums songs subscribe to. Paul Wayne’s self styled vocals project a powerful and unique vision of a tale entangled with the birth of a new millennia’s first decade. It’s the myth of decay shrouded in hope under the sway of a dawn in a new era.

“The Band strived for complete autonomy on this record”, muses Rip front man Paul Wayne, “It was always the goal from the beginning to try to make as unique a sounding record as possible; and I think we’ve done it.”

Jonathan Plum’s drumming explodes into a lead instrument lesson, guiding the songs across the map of beats and bars and the deep driven bass runs of Geoff Ott wrap around the outer realms of thunder fused groove-love soul-sounds. Paul’s clean guitar laced verse’s and chorus’ launch into swaths of layered slabs of distortion.

RIPSPACER III was recorded and produced by RipSpacer at London Bridge Studio in Seattle between February 2008 and February 2009. The album was mixed and mastered by Geoff Ott at London Bridge Studio on the NEVE 8048.
