Recent 2005 MAJA Award winner for Best Alternative/Rock Performer and nominees for Group of the Year; Best New Artist, Risen From The Ashes is passionate praise and worship that takes you on a journey to everywhere you've been or hope to go. When this Edmonton based band hits the stage, they astonish audiences with their soul-touching display of ballads, rocking blues and contemporary rock. Influenced by a wide range of music; rock (Murray / Joseph), southern gospel/traditional hymns underlining a maritime sound (Larry), country folk/blues (Rod), and the strong vocals of Murray Jaster, Risen From The Ashes play an eclectic and infectious brand of Christian music.

Somehow, some way, in the fall of 2000 God saw fit to put together a group of guys who had almost nothing in common other than the fact that they had each individually experienced both the full affects of being in the deep darkness of the soul and then being rescued from the pit and brought into the light of Christ. Oh, and they also had a love for music and felt compelled to give this back to the Lord in whatever way He saw fit. It's not about the individuals, nor their stories, not even their music. It is about the Lord Jesus Christ and His power to raise, literally, people "from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory" (1 Samual 2:8). Hence the name of this band "Risen From The Ashes".

Members of the band are committed to working with those lost in addictions, and donating a portion of every album sale to E3C. It is our fervent prayer that God would bless, encourage and restore the lives of all who may listen.
