She was an untrained nineteen-year-old as she stood upon the stage,a single follow-spot bathing her youthful body in light.

From the dark a voice asked,"Miss Mazzaretti"? "Mizrahi"
she corrected. "Miss Mizrahi, I don't seem to have your eight by ten here". "Eight by ten" she asked? "You know your photo? "Oh, I'm sorry, but I don't have one".

"Okay, what about sheet music, what are you going to sing for us tonight". "I'm afraid I don't have sheet music either, but I can sing anything you want if the gentleman at the piano plays it for me".

"Harry", the exasperated voice in the dark said "Find a song for the kid", and muttered to his assistant "she's either the smartest, or dumbest performer I ever met".

Harry played "Born In A Trunk", a Judy Garland song, and that evening she was offered the leading role of Adelaide in "Guys & Dolls".

She went on to play Ado Annie in "Oklahoma" Babe Williams in "Pajama Game", and Nelly in "South Pacific". That girl was ME!

From that time on, music from Broadway became my passion. However, sometimes when you are cast in a role, you might not get to sing a song you absolutley love. I hope to rectify that with this CD.

When you spy two songs from the same show,I will sing one in the role I was cast, and the others...well these are the songs that made my heart sing. I hope it does the same for you.
