Album Notes

The candles have been lit, and you've finished your sumptuious eight course dinner. Full and happy you pat you tummy and walk into the living room. The kids settle down on the floor. The family congregates around the entertainment center. Dad pops in a CD, and in a few moments riotous laughter fills the room. Tears of laughter roll down Grandmas cheeks, and Uncle Morris is doubled over with belly laughs. Just what is the cause of this fun and frolic? Why it's Grandma Rita's latest Holiday CD.

"T'was the Night Before Chanukah", is based on the original Xmas story, only Rita Shamie gives her tale a "Yiddishe-kite" twist. Instead of Reindeer named Rudolph, Prancer & Dancer, Rita names them Morty, Isaac, and Morris, and wait till you hear the name she gave Santa!

We've got Grandma, a nice elderly Jewish Lady who is always in the kitchen, managing just another "little taste", while preparing tons of food for her guests.

We've got a jolly old man dressed in blue, with a "Yarmulke" on his head, whoe speaks with a heavy Jewish accent. You'll have to pay very good attention to understand what he says, but then, that's half the fun.

Now you've met a character or two in this tale, so come along and join us for the treat that is "The Night Before Chanukah". It's guaranteed to make you feel part of the family, and by the way, "Happy Holidays", to you and yours with love from Rita Mizrahi Shamie.

I can't believe it, but I think grandma rita sounds just like Jackie Mason, her accent is soooooo funny! If I close my eyes, it's like my family are the characters. What a treat this CD is. I bought it for my Grandmother and can 't wait to see her face when I play it for her on Chanukah eve. This CD is a must have, and I really recommend it.
