Album Notes

Since their first show in February of 2007, RiverLeft has anxiously awaited the completion of their first studio album, ‘Stranger Things,’ released on April 24, 2008. The band has enjoyed a dedicated local following in Oxford, MS, touring for the most part in the Mississippi area, but hopes that the new album will give people all over the South and maybe even farther a chance to personally experience RiverLeft’s music. The album emerges from the unique songwriting and vision of Blake Mogabgab and showcases an eager group of young, talented musicians. When RiverLeft began recording at Tom Queyja’s studio The Lip last August, by day one the group knew they had something special on their hands. ‘Stranger Things” previews Queyja’s inevitable success as a music producer and features an array of Southern talent including Lucas Leigh, Christophe Ambrosino (Maria y el Sol), Dave Woolworth (Kudzu Kings), and Robert Chaffe (Kudzu Kings). In producing this album, Queyja successfully wove a unique blend of music from song to song into a cohesive professional work of art. The complex instrumentation of songs like Incredible It, Juliet, and Song for Francis reveals not only the talent of the artists on the album but Queyja's ability to organize sound into clean, beautiful music.
