"With the title cut, Michael wakes up the night train and takes us on one romantic ride. 'She Is What I Love' uncovers the reality of making a living doing what we love. 'All My Love' stirs the heart with the youthful passion of first commitments. 'Sailing Ships' is, well, a song I wish I had written. Seattle should look into making 'City of Dreams' its theme song, but if it gets too much radio time the freeways will be even more backed up. The background vocals of an incredible Jennifer Lind are a perfect match and make me want more...'More Than Ever Before.' This country-rock song is truer than any top-forty playing now. It needs air time! It needs a movie!(So I'm a romantic....) And what a treat to 'Hold You Tight." The most romantic of all, the slow jazz rhythm recalls scenes of an emptying bar, but instead of a janitor with a broom, the lyrics show a father putting his son to bed. The only thing wrong with that touching tune is it's the last one on the album. Great writing, terrific voices, delicious music...from engine to caboose, this is one sweet journey." (Nicki De/Victory Review)
It's obvious music is easy as breathing to Michael Rivers in the way his mellow voice drifts through his lush, layered songs....(Marisa Lencioni/Seattle Times)
Some smooth adult contemporary type stuff with arrangements that flow and vocals that melt. The best thing about this CD is the bass playing-this guy is great. The rest is outstanding as well, tune in to KLSY you older folks and enjoy. (Pandemonium)
