Album Notes

The Blessing is the second collection of original music from RiverTribe. The gentle didgeridoo based World Music feel continues from their previous title called Journey.

RiverTribe's second full length release offers up expected ambient excellence with significant progress in depth and substance. Its all here on The Blessing, the didgeridoos, the tribal beats, the flutes, the keyboards, the violins, it just seems as is they've taken their sound and concentrated it for your listening pleasure.

The album makes it even more difficult to classify the band into any one category. The guys have tightened their sound, each track providing more elements and layers than seen on their previous release. At times moving to a descent beat, at others mellow and majestic, The Blessing grabs the highs and lows both aurally and emotionally. The quality of the music and the capture of each element will make you give thanks that we are in the digital era, as I cannot imagine listening to this on anything other than CD quality. This album alone, is justification to pay the bean and upgrade that cassette walkman to a discman.

On a side note from the album, one of the great things about RiverTribe is that they are the real thing. If you get the privileged opportunity to catch the band live, you'll see that pretty much everything except the nature sounds and laughing kookaburras is performed live. From performing to thousands during the Sydney Olympics to the passers-by at Melbourne's Vic Market, these guys put on a good show.

With The Blessing, RiverTribe shows they're ready to grow into the potential their unique sound has to offer. Regardless of the genre of music you call home, there will always be a time to stop the world and relax with some RiverTribe.
