Weather The Storm was the debut Country album for singer and songwriter, Robert Martin, on Rodeo Records in Fort Worth, Texas. The CD was produced by Steve Stewart at Spirit Of The West Productions in Fort Worth, Texas. If you are a fan of Country Music, this is an album for you!

This is what Steve Stewart has to say about Robert Martin:

"Robert Martin has been a close friend of mine for many years, and I have persistently encouraged him to pursue his singing and songwriting talents. In my opinion, Robert has written some of the best country songs I've heard in a long time, and being a professional country music entertainer myself for over 25 years, I've heard a lot of them!

If you listen closely, I think you will agree that he is one of the best singer/songwriters in country music today...and I mean Country! Robert creates a song from the heart and delivers it straight from his soul with an honest simplicity. There is no doubt that Robert Martin is pure country down to his traditional core!

I was pleased and honored when Robert asked me to produce Weather The Storm. My main objective was to preserve the integrity of the songs and present them as a reflection of our mutual beliefs about country music. Fortunately, Robert and I seem to always get the same idea about how each song should sound in the end...and that is a good thing when we're involved in a recording project!

I hope you will support the efforts of two good ol' country boys in this ongoing venture, as we plan to produce several albums of Robert's material over the next few years. Please be sure to get your copy of Weather The Storm and future albums as they are released, so you'll have the entire collection."

Steve Stewart

Special Thanks:

To the Lord for the gift of music
Mom & Dad for raising me on Country Music
My wife and children for tolerating my nightly rehearsal sessions and my office staff for enduring my daily rehearsal sessions!

Thanks to all of the international DJs, sales outlets, and fans that have helped make this album such a success.

Thanks to Frank Fara and Patty Parker at Comstock Records, Ltd. for a superb worldwide promotion of this album.

Last, but certainly not least, thanks to Steve Stewart for all of his hard work on this album and for his encouragement over the last ten years. In his travels as a country music entertainer, I am certain that he has met many people from all walks of life, including singers and songwriters, and although I have never quite understood what he ever saw in me, I consider myself fortunate to have had the access and opportunity to learn from him, while watching him perform over the years. More than anything else, I would like to sincerely thank him for a terrific friendship.

This CD, "Weather The Storm", is absolutely AWESOME!! From the opening track, "Heaven's Rodeo", to the bouncy "Whole Lotta Lovin", This project is Robert Martin at his best. I've heard alot of great singers from my hometown before, but, "Weather The Storm" by Robert Martin, is a must-have for any traditional Country Music Fan. One of the other songs on the project, "Call Girl" I absolutely enjoy, simply because it has a certain beat to it that just makes you want to sing along on the chorus. All in all, "Weather The Storm" is one totally awesome CD!!!!!!! Great Work, Robert!!!!!

  • Fine traditional country songwriting
author: Arthur Furrer, Country Music Switzerland

I have listened to the CD a few times and it is impressive what is on it. It is a very pleasing CD with gentle Cowboy tunes and a large variation of rhythms. Some songs really have a hit potential like Wind Up Doin’ Her Wrong or the title song. This is music that remembers the good country traditions and is a refreshing alternaive to country-pop.

  • This album reflects the purest form of traditional Country Music
    author: Comstock Records

    Someone is carrying the torch of Country Music and that singer is Robert Martin. He is carrying on the great traditions of George Jones, Buck Owens and Waylon Jennings. True to his calling his songs are from the heart and not influenced by trend or time. He has chosen a producer, Steve Stewart, who not only shares is traditional beliefs but who also captures them in the studio. A perfect artist-producer team that Comstock is proud to present to the International music markets. Sit back and enjoy Robert Martin's debut album with us. It's entitled {Weather The Storm }

  • Wonderful traditional Country music - a great find.
author: Iain Dobie ( Country Music in Britain)

An album of country music the way I like it - lots of fiddle, steel, and honky tonk piano backing the nice country voice of Robert Martin playing his own songs. In Heaven's Rodeo I can feel the sadness of the rodeo rider waiting for his 'last ride' while The Good Old Days reminds me all children think their patents are too old for love ( must let my kids hear this one). Roberts says "I decided long ago to be myself in my songwriting, no matter what the current trends may be." Never change because this is Real Country music.
