Album Notes

The medieval commonwealth of Iceland was a nation of free farmers whose sagas recount with honesty and passion their struggle to maintain their laws, their families, their freedom. "Voyage to the Farm" is a 6-CD audiobook recording of my novel of that name about a farmer of thirteenth-century Iceland. It enacts the life of a boy who grows to manhood during the last decades of the free commonwealth. The issues of the novel are still urgent for us, in a world where each man & each woman must decide where to lodge their loyalties, for survival, for happiness.

REVIEWS

An exciting Icelandic odyssey of love, betrayal, faith, hope and murder.
author: Mario
The story and the CD are awesome! You feel yourself drawn into the exciting culture and spirit of Iceland as you follow young Thorir on his odyssey of suffering, during which he comes to know the meaning of loyalty, love, faith and responsibility in the midst of a savage raid, slavery and murder. You can relate to the characters not only on an emotional level, but also with regard to their restless longing for freedom and exploration of lands in the west; for Vinland, the land that would one day become America.
