Album Notes

This is the first released recording of R. Mutt. It was done in 1991 within months of the band's lead singer departing and most of the songs were written within a few months of this recording. Steamin' Hot Coolie was intended to be a cassette demo for the band to use to get gigs around Milwaukee and Chicago in the early 90's but good fan support from the Marquette College scene in Milwaukee lead to a small pressing of CD's.

The total budget allowed for only 30 hours of time for recording, overdubbing, mixing and mastering, so most of what you will hear is a first or second take.

This is NOT meant to serve as an introduction to the band, instead it has been re-released here for hardcore fans from back in the college days. A few of these songs have been re-tooled and can be heard at current live shows. The Live Music Archive link to the left will take you to a 1997 live show at Schuba's in Chicago which was well attended by many of the old R. Mutt faithful from the MU days.
