Robbie Hazen\'s new EP entitled Come to Life is buoyant and self-assured. His musical style can be described as pop-oriented indie-rock, with influences ranging from hard-rock to folk-pop that subtly emerge throughout each of the five tracks on the album. Recorded in just under a week with producer/engineer Duane Lundy (The Apparitions, Florez) at the helm, Come to Life captures the essence of Robbie’s college years at the University of Notre Dame.
Hazen\'s high, unique vocals perfectly capture his inner musings and twenty-something reflections, much in the style of the early work of great pop-rock singer-songwriters like David Mead and Art Garfunkel. His confident lyrics and funky guitar licks are filled with tales of hope, sex, love and loss. Robbie’s intense, percussive guitar playing and incredibly entertaining live performances conjure memories of wild college nights and captivate people of all ages, leaving audiences smiling and eager for more.
Come to Life is Robbie Hazen’s second independent effort, but marks his first release since his graduation in May of 2008. With an emphasis on raw, live sound and emotion, the EP focuses on Robbie’s songwriting abilities and pure performance. This young musician’s new EP is as bright and delectable as his burgeoning career, and will surely make a stand in the mainstream.
