ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The music of award winning singer/songwriter Rob Bruce derives its lyrical inspiration from his travels in Latin America, where he lived and worked with indigenous shamans (Curanderos) for some years during the 1990's. Musically, his work is largely of the Celtic tradition, though other tribal world music traditions also inform it. His music is also inspired by the great land Australia, its myriad cultures and peoples and its stunning landscape. Bruce's lyrics contain themes of time and timelessness, transcendence, freedom, spirituality, healing and mysticism, reflecting his ongoing interest in shamanism. There are love songs, murder ballads, story songs of adversity and triumph, and songs that reflect archetypal themes that resonate throughout the ages. Lyrically, his work is complex, and musically, his collaborations with such world class finger style guitarists as Michael Fairley, ensure that all aspects of the songs have something of interest for all listeners.
