Album Notes

Robby Zar is a Chicago songwriter, musician, and generally speaking, a pretty good guy (if you don’t count that thing that happened last spring).

He has played at several locations around Chicago in various incarnations since 1998, including: Big Horse, Elbo Room, Mars Gallery, Navy Pier, Empty Bottle, Underground Lounge, Poitin Stil, Buddy Gallery, Cosmicafe, Uncommon Ground, Frankie J’s on Broadway, and more. He has even played in Pittsburgh once, with a laptop, at an art gallery.

His musical style has been linked with several people including Nick Drake, Elliot Smith, Jeff Buckley, and Iron and Wine. But comparisons make him queasy and uneasy, and he’d rather you just listened to some samples and find out for yourself.

Oh, and he has a red guitar.

I am a Believer

What an amazing album, it posses all the qualities of my all time favorite albums. The songs are beautifully written and the lyrics are heart shattering. It makes me want to turn my stereo up and drive thru the mountains till I get lost in the horizon. WELL DONE.
