Album Notes

"Round and Round" is the debut album by the Rob Denty quartet. The CD features six original compositions by Rob and the standards, "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You" and a beautiful ballad rendition of Leonard Bernstein's "Lucky to Be Me". The recording features Rob on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, Tom Vaitsas on Rhodes and organ, Cory Biggerstaff on upright bass, and Tim Mulvenna on drums.

The group is influenced by many styles of music from traditional jazz to free jazz, from Indian music to Greek music, from popular music to classical music. What makes this band different is how it ties all of these influences into a traditional jazz quartet. The band prides itself on playing as a unit in the spirit of true improvisation.
