Sabharata – the gift of abundance and many blessings - to you.

ROBERTA LEMON, B.S.Y.A.(C.I.) (Performer/Writer)
Roberta was born on the British Channel Island of Guernsey, close to the west coast of Normandy, France. She studied drama with the late Maurice Kossloff, at Hollywood Theatrical Studios; Jeff Corey’s Actor’s Studio in Malibu and the Van Mar Academy for TV & Motion Picture Acting in Hollywood. In London, she continued to hone her craft at the Lee Strasberg Studio and the Holborn Centre for the Performing Arts, where she began working with her mentor, method acting coach Jack Waltzer. She co-wrote and performed her one-woman play “Anaïs:Anagram” at the Edinburgh Festival in 1997 and as a result embarked on a year long tour to London, Scotland, Sydney, Brisbane and Los Angeles, winding up at the Demarco European Arts Foundation in Edinburgh. A yoga enthusiast for 20 years, Roberta qualified as an instructor with the British School of Yoga in 1999 and has taught over 2,000 classes since, in the UK, USA and Mexico. “I will practice yoga all of my life!”

CHRIS PINNICK, COMPOSER, MUSICIAN
Born in Van Nuys, California, guitarist and songwriter Chris Pinnick picked up his first guitar at age 7 and never looked back. Chris is probably best known as the lead guitarist for "Chicago" from 1980-1985, earning gold and platinum awards for "Chicago" 14, 16, 17 and Greatest Hits Vols. 1 & 2. Chris recorded with Herb Alpert and was awarded a gold record for his electric guitar work on Herb's hit, "Rise”. Chris and Roberta met while both working at the Samaritan Center, a homeless shelter in Simi Valley, CA. and subsequently began collaborating on “Journey to Sabharata” a simple and effective anti-stress device for everyone, ages 8 – 108+.

With his gentle nature, dry humor and easygoing style, Chris is in much demand in the L.A. session circles; he has recorded electric and acoustic guitar for projects with current lead guitarist for "Chicago" Keith Howland and 6 CD’s with Chet McCracken. Chris is co-owner and operator of Studio C&C in West Hills California, a state-of-the-art digital recording studio featuring 24-track recording and pro-tools systems.

"The best way to overcome evil is to make energetic progress in the good"
I CHING

From Roberta:
"I don’t have a vision of ending poverty and hunger, I have a vision of every, individual, living being having plenty, all their needs met on a daily basis. I don’t have a vision of war ending, but Peace existing in every single, heart. I have a vision of every living soul housed, fed, watered, loved, healthy, happy, comfortable and useful. There is plenty for everyone. Once we remove the competition for wealth and the desperate need for power over others we will have peace on earth. A tall order? No, not to me. If I believed that I might give up or not bother. It doesn’t matter if I get to see it in my lifetime or not. I am here now and this is my job, as described to me by my Inner Director, who writes to you now!

So we begin to always look on the bright side: the glass is always half full. We look for the good in everybody and every situation, without exception..even the most difficult of circumstances we search and find the silver lining in the cloud and we proceed from there.

Finally, a note about ‘gratitude’. Gratitude is the single most powerful energy for change. The law of cause and effect tells us that if we are constantly in a state of gratitude, the effect is a constant supply of things to be grateful for!

Bring on all that wonderful stuff!
Love always
Roberta"

ABOUT YOGA
Yoga is a profound system of holistic health which originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It was Patanjali who first put Yoga into written form as the Yoga Sutras and defines the practice as having 8 'limbs' or 'branches'. The 3rd Limb, "Asana" refers to the postures or Yoga poses that most people associate with Yoga today. According to the Sutras, the 7th Limb, "Dhyana", is about Relaxation and Meditation and is therefore considered equally as important as the postures. It is not about doing the headstand or the lotus pose, but to 'Quiet the distractions of the Mind', something that most of us Westerners could certainly benefit from.

In 1993, the then Swami Vivekananda, a young Indian monk, came to America to speak at the first World Parliament of Religions in Chicago. His wondrous message of Oneness and Universality awed the Parliament to such a degree that Vivekananda single handedly raised India to the level of Spiritual Teacher in the eyes and hearts of the West. Vivekananda was the first and most fully realized Yoga Master to ever bring the ancient spiritual wisdom and practices of India to the United States and over 100 years after his death he is still regarded by millions to be the greatest Yogi of the modern era.

ABOUT AUTOGENICS

Included on this CD is an exercise called Autogenics - a simple, self help method that promotes wellness and relaxation; reducing stress and restoring emotional and physical wellbeing, discouraging illness and even shortening the course of a disease. The technique was developed circa 1915 by the German neurologist & psychologist, Johannes Schultz. The procedure involves repeating a series of stock phrases, thereby inducing a meditative state of complete relaxation. 8-10 weeks of training is often sufficient to restore mental equilibrium, enhance coping skills and overcome sleep troubles. Because stress can have such a negative impact on the body's immune defenses, autogenic training can also strengthen the immune function immeasurably.

The most important pre-requisite for autogenics is to make time for it! Eliminate any obvious distractions, such as the phone. Choose a quiet place where you feel at warm and at ease. Then get into a relaxed position, preferably lying on your back on a padded surface. To encourage relaxation, you might like to add a few drops of lavender oil to a diffuser or eye pillow and headphones can be used too.

Practiced regularly, autogenics exercises can have a hugely beneficial effect on the autonomic nervous system and therefore all the organs of the body. This simple technique can dramatically help relieve a wide range of problems caused by stress or nervous tension, such as palpitations, sleep difficulties, nervousness, stress, headaches, psychosomatic illness and chronic pain. sa-bh-Ara-tA (an old Sanskrit name for abundance and the gift of many blessings) to you!

We support THE CHILDREN'S HUNGER FUND http://www.childrenshungerfund.org

The Children's Hunger Fund's mission is to help children suffering from malnourishment and hunger all over the world. CHF is my charity of choice not only for its notable mission, but also because it is a cost-effective charity, with more than 99 cents of every dollar going directly to care for the needs of children.

I am not the only one that has taken notice of CHF's vision and integrity! Forbes.com recently listed Children's Hunger Fund as the only U.S. Charity to hold a 100% rating in all three of their rating categories. More than 99% of all revenue goes to programs serving children in need.

"Serving children in need...across America and around the world."

To meet the thousands of needs that exist in the world today, Children's Hunger Fund utilizes an extensive network of generous ministries, companies and individuals who help transform children's lives from hunger to hope.

Thousands of compassionate families fill Food Paks with nutritional food, which are delivered directly into the homes of families they have never met. Trained ministry partners pick up food from our warehouse and operate distribution centers, feeding nearly 30,000 people every week! Faithful volunteers package and prepare food, or wrap the thousands of toys given to children during the holiday season. Generous donors with a heart to feed and clothe the hungry write monthly checks, enabling our efforts to continue around the clock. Caring corporations give truckloads of quality products to those who could, otherwise, never afford them. In countries around the world, CHF builds strong relationships with indigenous leaders who have a passion for their own people, and provide food and other aid to support their ministries.

Since 1991, Children's Hunger Fund has distributed more than $500 million in aid, bringing hope to children in more than 70 countries worldwide.

It has been said that a person can live forty days without food, four days without water, four minutes without air, but only four seconds without hope. Hope restores faith to a life that has been robbed of dignity. Hope replaces a past of hunger, brokenness, and despair with a bright future of opportunity.

It is hope that CHF seeks to restore.

Children's Hunger Fund is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.

I love listening to the meditation over and over again.
I love the musical arrangement and I love listening to the meditation over and over again. I spend a lot of time in my car and play it repeatedly. It's relaxing, peaceful and puts me in a 'safe place'. Roberta really draws me in and makes me feel like she is talking directly to me, one on one. I don't want it to get to the end! I HIGHLY recommend it!
