ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
It’s been two long years, too long, since we heard new music from Robert Anton. Now he’s back with a genre-busting celebration of life: BIGGER THAN ME. Once again, in true singer/songwriter fashion, Robert Anton is bringing to you an independent album that will not only make you move, but also touch your heart, fill your soul, and give you something to think about.
Robert has a way of uplifting your spirit while filling your ears with the sounds of pure soul. His voice has been called “velvety,” “smooth,” and “soothing.” It will caress your ears and put you in the mood to dance, sing, make love, and celebrate.
Sexy, innovative, charming: what more can be said about a man who’s been “spoiled by heaven”? From the driving beat and sassy saxophone sounds of "The Joy Never Ends", to the laid back groove of "Summertime" and "Baby, I Love You", BIGGER THAN ME will be one of your favorite CDs of all time. It’s R&B, dance, and inspirational music that you’ll want to share with all your friends.
Order BIGGER THAN ME today at robertanton.com and CDBaby.com. Get ready for an experience. Independence never sounded so good!

"His best work so far...entertaining at every turn"
-Herndon Davis (author, lecturer, TV and radio host)

"I've always had great respect for artists who re-invent tradition. Singer-songwriter-performer Robert Anton is one of those artists...Anton's own patent mix of R&B, funk, soul, trance, and house… "
-Jed Ryan (Outmusic)

"This CD is the bomb! Robert Anton croons like no one can!"
-Reginald Naji-Allah (playwright, author, director)

Artist Bio

Robert Anton is a singer/songwriter/actor and has been “singing since he was a thought,” -as his grandmother would say-and she should know. He grew up singing with choirs, quartets, and soloists at the pentecostal church where his grandma was the pastor.

Not only did this instill in him a deep, spiritual love of music and performing, it also gave him the courage to find his true calling at an early age. By the time Robert was a pre-teen, he knew he wanted to sing for his supper. Consequently, he went on to study music at the Cleveland School of Arts and Baldwin-Wallace College; then he moved to Chicago, and finally New York City, to pursue his dream.

Once in New York, Robert quickly began performing in any venue available and landed his first big tour doing his favorite show, “Dreamgirls,” with Miki Howard. Since then, he has toured and performed in over 10 countries and 150 cities in various shows and with headlining performers such as Vanessa Bell-Armstrong, Altrina Grayson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Corey Reynolds, Lisa Nicole-Carson, and others. Robert was also seen as a finalist on "It’s Showtime At the Apollo" with Steve Harvey.

Currently, Robert is promoting and celebrating his own releases through his company, playAnton productions. He’s released four CDs of original songs and has been performing and selling that material throughout the tri-state area and internationally via the Internet. Robert also has songs on several current and pending compilation CDs in Germany, France, and South Africa.

You can hear Robert on college and Internet radio stations including Qnation.fm, WBAI, WNYC, WUSC, and more. You can also see Robert any day, any time at youtube.com/robertantonnyc. He posts many of his performances and does a video log about the music business and anything that comes to mind.

“I feel so blessed to be able to follow my dreams.” -Robert Anton

I waited and waited and waited! Finally it is available! I love this album, "Bigger Than Me" from Robert Anton. No matter what song you listen to, you won't be disappointed. My son and I listen to this cd over and over again! I truly believe this is Robert's best album out there.

Bigger Than Me
"Bigger Than Me" is a great collection of very moving songs. "The Joy Never Ends" is rhythmic with a steady beat. A very modern gospel tune which demonstrates the richness of Robert Anton's voice. Definitely a "hand raiser". "Baby, I Love You" is a slow smooth love song. When Robert sings the words, "I love you" one can feel the longing for reconciliation. "Bigger Than Me" opens with heavenly tinkling sounds that set the mood for this affirming ballad. The tempo is at an enjoyable pace encouraging you to nod in agreement with the all encompassing emotion. "In His Time" brings to mind a very modern, hip island beat set to inspirational lyrics which is not an easy thing to pull off but it's done very well here. "10,000 Tongues" has a backdrop of fast yet steady beats set to lyrics of worshipful testimony. A selection any choir would be honored to cover. "Summertime" has a nice tempo of drums echoing summer exuberance. A song one can play during any season and feel transported to a summertime place. Energetic and bouncy. "Blessed and Spoiled" is another example of Robert Anton's uncanny ability to combine inspirational lyrics over very danceable beats without making you feeling sacrilegious.

Retro with a modern edge*
“Bigger Then me,”

Robert Anton’s latest album, is a mixture of gospel, R&B, some disco-techno vibe songs and a hint of acoustic soul. The diversity of this song is clear from noting the genres alone... There are intimate ballads such as, “Bigger Then me,” (my favorite) and then there are fun mid-tempo songs such as “Summertime.” Robert really lets the groves of the tracks take you on a roller coaster ride, from fast happy fun songs, to slow sad songs, Robert has a great mix of music on his album. I would recommend “Bigger Then me” for anyone who wants a fun album to listen to in the car, or just hanging out. To put it simply, Robert’s album is a uplifting fun album. And to put the icing on the cake, all of his music has meaning. It’s not just a bunch of gibberish with a good beat. My only complaint would be, in all honesty, I would have liked more vocals and less instrumentals and breaks... Great retro R&B album, with a modern edge.

My favorites: “Bigger Than me,” “Baby, I Love You,” and “10,000 Tongues.”
