Comfort Me
author: Debra Hollingsworth
I have to give some background info on why this song is so special to me. First of all, I am SO GLAD that Robert Edwin FINALLY made some CDs! I live in Houston & ordered this CD a week before Hurricane Ike hit our fair city. The section of town in which I live was hit hard--Ike came in at 3:00 AM on 9/12/08--the wind howled and howled for hours--the power went out and the only light that could be seen was the eerie green glow of transformers exploding in the hurricane force winds. Try to imagine 4.5 million people with no power and the ripple effect that has: no gasoline, no groceries, no businesses open, NO POWER. Thank God my home did not sustain any damage: my new roof & new siding were intact! But many of my neighbors were not as fortunate--the city suffered extensive damages & went without power for days: I had no power for 8 days--you might think that is not too long, but try it sometime! The post office had no power either, & I new that the CDs were on the way, but mail delivery, like everything else, was on hold because of IKE. When the CDs did arrive, I opened \"More to Life\" and listened to it in my car--remember, I still had NO POWER at my home--\"Comfort Me\" was the first song--what an impact it had on me! I listened to it over and over again! This song truly was \"a light in the darkness\" for me! The timing could not have been better! I was depressed by the way Ike had ravaged the homes of my neighbors and family, but the song rekindled hope in my heart. Texans are hardy, resilient folks, and we will come through this! Whenever I feel down, I listen to \"Comfort Me\" and I can re-focus on my gratitude that I came through the storm. For anyone who needs a lift, you MUST order this CD!
