Album Notes

Robert Harding has over twenty-five years playing experience. Robert studied classical guitar with Robert Guthrie at Southern Methodist University where he earned a Master of Music degree focusing on guitar performance. He earned his Bachelor of Music at the University of North Texas majoring in guitar performance. Robert studied in Spain with Jose Tomas and Jose Luis Rodrigo and with many classical guitarists who performed in the Dallas area, including Carlos Barbosa-Lima, William Kanengiser, and Vladislav Blaha. Robert was a member of the Dallas Classical Guitar Society’s Advisory Board and was an Associate Professor of Music at Collin County Community College.

Robert Harding has been a featured performer on radio broadcasts (WRR Dallas) and has played with Dallas-area ensembles, most recently with the Dallas Wind Symphony at the Meyerson Symphony Hall in September 2006.

Robert has brought the music of the classical guitar to non-traditional venues like famed folk club Anderson Fair in Houston, “song circles” around Texas; and once playing a “Concert in the Sky” aboard a Legend Airlines flight to Los Angeles as part of a marketing promotion.

His debut recording “Robert Harding, Guitarist 6/13” includes the music of Spanish and South American composers.

Though my musical background is vocal, can appreciate music in all forms and this CD is such a pleasure to listen to and appreciate! The talent and skill to play such pieces as Heitor Villa-Lobos, is evident. The fluidity of Mr. Harding's playing lends to a feeling of reprise and serenity that enables the listener to be transported. This CD is well worth listening to while working on reports or better yet, while taking a long, hot bubble-bath.

I've heard him perform live, recorded, jamming, and in song-circles. Robert has the unique musical ability to take you to another time, another place in a matter of seconds. You forget you're listening... you just "check out" for awhile. Thanks Robert!
