ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Robert Morton is a life-long singer song writer heavily influenced by music of the 70's, 80's, 90's and the lessons of life. His style is most often associated with James Taylor, Jackson Browne and Neil Young. A guitar player since childhood, Robert always played what he felt, though he did play some covers - everyone likes to hear what they know.

Robert pursued a corporate life, but in his late thirties with a full experience of life's challenges and heartaches, decided to take a new path. At age 40 he quit work and rode his motorcycle 15,000 miles along the twisted back roads that surround the 4 borders of the US. The adventure was an incredible journey and experience for Robert. During the trip, he met and married the woman who to this day fills every part of his life with unconditional love.

Robert rejoined the corporate world, but was downsized in 2009 when the financial crisis came upon us all. As they say, when one door closes another one opens. With the encouragement of his wife, Robert picked up his guitar, pulled out some of his favorite lyrics and melodies, wrote a few more and jumped into recording his first album, Twisted Road.

"Playing and singing music that comes from inside is a great joy for me. Recording Twisted Road has been one of my most fulfilling experiences. I hope you will enjoy my music and support my effort - please listen, buy it if you like it and tell all your friends about it. With enough support, I will soon be recording my second album and sharing it with you, my family, friends and fans." - Robert Morton

This album came together at Dirt Floor Studios in Chester, CT (now in Deep River, CT). Recorded in ANALOG, this music greatly reflects the incredible musical and vocal talent of Erich Lichter, owner of Dirt Floor Studios. The album was mixed by the one and only Michael Burke of Specialized Mastering in Framingham, MA. All lyrics and music was written by Robert Morton

Melodies that will make you bounce along
The groovy beat on "Too Many Busy Days" had me bopping around the kitchen before I even heard the words and was right there with you smiling and nodding my head. Great one!

I really liked the lyrics on "Kiss the Sky" -- especially about a cup of love getting you through the day. Yes! Get on up -- and jump up, even, and kiss the sky! Great imagery -- and, again, something that I was dancing to around the kitchen and then nodding and smiling as the words caught me.

"December" is a great wrap to the album. The guitar picking is lovely. The words are bittersweet, but December can feel that way sometimes and it also made me think how lucky one is when their love has come along and IS staying.

Great Stuff
I had the opportunity to listen to Robert Morton live a a gig he played in Philadelphia. He is a great song writer. His songs are both interesting stories and have great melodies. I would highly recommend this album!
