Gripping vocals, fresh anointing, ministering lyrics and a style all his own. Smooth gospel recording artist Robert Owens has answered to the call of ministry. Robert began singing at the age of nine, under the direction of Andre' Crouch. He grew up in Calif. and received his formal training in the Washington DC area singing opera in high school which was extremely rare for someone his age. Strongly influenced on the R&B side by the likes of Pebro Bryson, Donnie Hathaway and Marvin Gaye. His vocal abilities developed tremendously. Robert continued his studies at Kansas Univ. where he perfected his percussion skills with congas, timbales and other Africian hand instruments. Robert has performed and toured with the likes of Najee, Ashford & Simpson, Grover Washington Jr, Freddie Jackson and Gerald Albright. He scored a national recording hit Midnight Rain, with the group Max Groove which posted 14 on Billboard Jazz charts. Being raised with a stong conviction in the Lord, Jesus Christ lead Robert Owens into ministry as a worship leader. Robert served as worship leader at Mountain Top Faith Ministries under Bishop Clinton House Later Robert served as minister of music and Worship leader at Restorer of the Breach Ministries both in Las Vegas Nevada.Robert is a licensed Minister and now resides in Atlanta Ga.
