Album Notes

An up-and-coming singer/songwriter in the Philadelphia area, Robyn Harris embodies an intimate folk/pop style uniquely her own. Her engaging knack for story telling and a full, driven voice are carefully crafted together to create songs of life, loves, and laughter that take the listener on a journey of adventure and introspection.

But unlike most singer/songwriters so young, Harris adds to her work a surprising degree of worldliness. A native of Northern California, Robyn left the comforts of home in search of inspiration in the form of a year-long trek around the globe. With a backpack and guitar in tow, she traveled 5 continents bringing back with her songs that reflected the struggles and rewards of everyone she encountered. "I met the most amazing people there; they were so welcoming and friendly, but the language and cultural barriers made it impossible for them to truly get to know me," Robyn recalls regarding the challenges of living in Argentina. Her song "Without Being Known" was the result, one of six tracks on her independently released debut EP, "Two Red Doors." (Dec '03) The more she traveled, the more the songs kept unfolding becoming some of her most personal work to date.

Now back in The States, Harris is focusing her attention on recording her first full-length record and performing regularly with an unbridled drive found in few artists today. Since the onset of her performances in September '03, Robyn has played in over 20 venues, varying from "The Point" in Bryn Mawr to "The C-note" in New York City. "I started writing because the music moved me. It moved me from reflection to expression. It drove me from a single note to a song and transformed me from a simple girl to a completely committed songwriter." Now that she's seen the world, it would seem that it's only a matter of time before the world sees her.
