Album Notes

This albums of songs was recorded as a dedication to my first music teacher, Mrs Mairín Féritear, who taught me harp and singing at Sion Hill School, Blackrock Co. Dublin. Mrs Féritear also taught Mary O'Hara to sing and play harp too.

After I learned these songs, Mrs Féritearsaid to me, "Now Claire, why don't you go off and write your own songs?", and you will hear how I responded to that on my other CD collections.

For this collection, I hope you will enjoy listening to these songs of Ireland. Here are many well known, beautiful songs that always remain popular and always remain in many people's hearts, not just the Irish.
