Rock Child - Ten
Rock/Pop
The Ten songs on Rock Child’s Ten play through telling vocalist Tat-Jane Bego’s Story of arrival in New York City from Europe and adapting to life in the Big Apple’s Entertainment Scene.
Instrumentation is strong, led by Barry Fischel on guitar, too strong in the Mix actually on “Blue Sky” a few times during the track I had to crank the volume just to hear Ta-Jane vocals, but that’s really just a technicality, her vocals are worth the crank up to hear therm. That’s really the only complaint her, instruments (as stated) are great and Tat-Jane’s vocals sound like a cross between a sober Courtney Love and Bjork.
***Choice cuts are: “WHEN THE SUN’S COMING DOWN” and “PIRATE LAND”
Rock Child’s “TEN” gets 4 our of 5 -- Michael Meade
New York City based Rock Child - Tat Jane Bego - (vocals), Chris Barry Fischel (guitar,) and Lev Weinstein (drums), churn out what you might imagine a talent night may bring to CBGBs.
It's grungy punk metal rock, not particularly subtle, not particularly well played and not particularly well produced. Tat Jane's vocals are delivered in a sub Patty Smith style, while Chris' fretwork is pondersome and bludgeoning. But if you just want something that's 'in your face' and authentically low down and dirty NYC … *
Rock Child’s “TEN” gets 3 our of 5 Review by Pete Whalley, UK
ROCK REALMS, UK on "TEN"
…..Rock Child have tried something interesting on this release. They should be commended for not following the sheep and not doing something chart-botheringly obvious, and especially the guitar work is deserving of praise….

Guitar-Driven Classic Rock
author: Diane and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
Rock Child's CD “Ten” is embedded with guitar-driven, hard core rock and roll. Reaching well beyond these roots, this group captures an edgy hard rock style using driving, distorted rock guitar riffs overlaid with melodic vocals. This is definitely a turn-up-the-volume classic rock CD with an edgy, raw sound. The album takes you on a journey of happiness and sorrow fused with poetic lyrics. “When the Sun is Coming Down” is a great example of this as the music is mysterious in tonality adding to the obscurity on this track. A powerful guitar intro leads us into the track “An Anticipation” leaving the listener wanting to hear more. If you’re a fan of classic hard rock bands such as Black Sabbath then “Ten” is an album well worth checking out.
