Many studies have linked a child's exposure to music with high achievement later in life. We feel that a child needs to be more than "exposed" to music at a young age, they need to be "immersed" in it. If listening expands the mind, imagine what listening, feeling, dancing and participating can do? By getting your child on their feet, or into your arms their entire body and mind are involved in the music.

We chose to build this experience on familiar nursery rhymes and songs to connect with something the child may already enjoy. This is only the starting point, however, as the rhymes are then fused with ballroom dance rhythms, the lyrics expanded and a complete score is added. The resulting songs are completely original, yet familiar and fun. Imagine "5 little Monkeys" as a Mambo, or "John Jacob Jinglehiemerschmidt" as a Tango. Each song brings to life a different dance style and each song connects to a child through a different nursery rhyme.

Many children's CD's are designed to be listened to in the car on long trips or used to lull children to sleep. Shake, Rattle & Rhyme, on the other hand, is designed to get everyone out of their chairs, irresistibly moving to the music. Whether it is Samba, Cha-Cha or even the Tango, each song puts the baby in your arms, or the toddler in your hands and you find yourself dancing together around the room.
