Album Notes

Melodic, psychedelic, dynamic, noisy - quite a trip from beginning to end.

This disc is full of surprises.

This album by How to Build a Rocketship is by far one of the best albums I have heard in the past year. It stands up even to the test of my CD rotating habits - it takes the most time out of all right now, as it has since it arrived in the mail. The music is full of catchy and melodic hooks that keep you thinking about the songs all day. A few highlights include - Let's hear it for the sciences, prom song, sashay & a clerk's lament (to name a few). Don't let that make you think that those are the only good songs though, for the album is a great listen start to finish. My only complaint is that it always seems to end before I want it to.

How to Build a Rocketship is really an experience more than just a band to check out. Their music is trippy, exciting and just overall enjoyable for most experiences. The songs on "Thank you Easter Bunny" include an array of well balanced drums with sometimes off beat rhythms, and a plethera of different guitar sounds and styles. The lyrics are stimulating and intriguing. The singing is also very excellent. It nearly clashes because he is such a clean singer and the actual music can tend to be a bit messy. Check out the Easter Bunny! and then you can thank him!
