ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Produced by Rachel Bolan (Skid Row), Rockets To Ruin is set to release their long awaited first full length recording entitled “Love * Drugs * Rebellion.” Rockets To Ruin’s raw, uncompromising sound slaps conformity in the face, reaching out to a generation lusting after the glory days of rock n’ roll. Loud, energetic, and fun is their approach to songwriting. They don't believe their lives are bad or that life is unfair. Instead, they believe in KISS, Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, The Ramones, The Cult, and the power of rock n’ roll… and it shows!

With a non-stop buzz developing in the Southeastern United States, Rockets To Ruin has made its mark on fans of this music, and the numbers are growing daily. The band was formed in Atlanta, GA by singer Cleveland Willis and guitarist Mike Grimmett. They soon met bassist Chris Taylor through a mutual friend. “The minute I walked through the door and saw Mike’s Les Paul/Mesa Boogie and heard him crank out some old school style KISS riffs, I knew this was the right band for me,” states Chris. After several drummers had come and gone, they finally recruited friend Rob Hammersmith. Rob completed the line-up and Rockets To Ruin was complete and ready to fly… fast.

Rockets To Ruin continues with a busy live schedule throughout the Southeastern U.S., and the buzz is growing. This high-powered, guitar-driven rock n' roll band is set to inspire a defiant rock-deprived generation that is ready for a 360-spin from the mainstream corporate numbness currently dominating the nation’s airwaves.

• RTR was selected to perform the Six Flags Masquerade Ball (sponsored by 99x) 2005.

Amazingly Perfect!
I rarely leave feedback of this sort but Rockets to Ruin is a clear exception. There are certain bands that have influenced music other than the bands that we're listening to right now. The band reminds me of The Cult, not because music but the energy of "Electric", the album that marked a deliberate change to a wild style. All songs are deep, thoughtful and brilliant. I didn't waste my money, seriously. Play them loud!!!

So, you thought all the great rock was gone?
This CD kicks ass. Really. When compared to some of the current CD's being put out these days, you might think at first listen that this CD doesn't stand a chance in the current market. However, a complete listen will reveal that the hard-rocking tunes on “Love*Drugs*Rebellion” beg to be played on repeat. Reminiscent of, but certainly not copied from, the late 80's to early 90's sound of rock, Rockets to Ruin draws the listener into a world of just good rock and roll, no strings attached. Driving guitar and moody vocals combine to give the listener a rarity: a disc you will always play in its entirety. If you're looking for a quick single to download and add to a mixtape, you will be hard-pressed to choose just one, for this CD is full of great tunes.
Blasting your ears right out of the gate, "We Are the Drugs" immediately grabs you and makes you want to crank this CD up. Next is "Take a Ride With me (Straight to Hell)," the song to which I can envision singer Cleve Willis holding the mic out to a crowd of fans and encouraging crowd participation. If you aren't doing 90 on a long stretch of highway yet, you'd better get there, because this CD does not slow down. "Devil Girl" has some very subtle shades of L.A. Guns to it, and runs right into "Screamin at Me," a truly kickass, guitar-driven anthem worthy of any stadium crowd. "1 More Fix" has been stuck in this reviewer's head for weeks now, as is "Helpless." The track that really made me sit up was "Gotta go, Gotta Roll." It comes across as the perfect party song, but upon close listen you can almost feel the band's desire to climb to the top of the charts. Rounding out the CD nicely are "Revolution" and "Nowhere to Go (No Time to Care)," two more great rock tunes.
Overall, this is a GREAT CD for any fan of good rock music. I only have two complaints: one, that the whole CD is less than 40 minutes long. This means that it usually plays 3-4 times in a row before you'll want to take it out. The other complaint? I’d really like to hear a ballad.
So drop a few bucks on this CD and stuff it in your car CD player, turn up the volume to ten, and break off the knob. This one’s a keeper. Best CD of 2006.

Lyrics and music for our times
You want killer rock music? These guys deliver it. They have the gravitational pull of bands like Quicksand or The Deftones with searing guitar licks, muscular bass lines and "keith moon-like" drumming. Strangely, they actually have superb vocals with lyrics that are actually intelligent and are a harpoon into the 21st century cult of narcissism. You will enjoy this disk.

rock fan:
In the age of Britney's fall and the final demise of boy bands, Rock has reared it's angry head again! This CD is everything you want. It kicks of with a heavy sexy beat that will ignite all the passion you felt the first time you heard Guns and Roses. Take a Ride with me will soon replace the over played Welcome to the Jungle that's been burned in your brain. Your skip button won't be used - this CD rocks to the very last song. Finally, a band has broke through all the crap thats been spoon fed to the masses by Corporate Radio. This band is on the fast track. Buy the CD and then get yourself to their next live performance because the days of seeing their smaller live performances are numbered and you'll only be able to glimpse them in huge stadium performances.
