The Rockin Daddies are a stripped down, tough rockabilly/blues band with a fresh 1950's sound. There is no wasted space on this CD. Every song is strong and focused. It's straight ahead, fun, raw, bass slappin rock and roll that's not over produced. Nothing but vintage amps and analog recording gear was used to record this CD. The sounds that the Rockin Daddies achieve on their instruments is real, raunchy and in your face.
The Rockin Daddies consists of Mike Olivieri (vocals, guitar), Jerry Scaringe (upright bass, harmonica on some tracks) and George Morales (drums). A little less than half of the tracks are instrumental. However these are not your typical instrumentals. They are catchy and entertaining, holding your interest till the end. Not only will it keep you interested, but by the time this CD is over you will be dancing in your living room.
If you like the Rockin' Daddies be sure to check out the Slippery Chickens and One Eyed Cat also available on CD Baby

Theme to a Crime Story
author: Alex Machine
One of my favorite tv shows as a little kid was Crime Story. It was a mob story set in late 50's/early 60's Chicago and Las Vegas. This cd makes me think of the various themes in the show. I love this disc, even the way it's recorded captures the feel of the fifties. The guitar revs like a car from Monster Joe's garage, very cool indeed. The beat is simple and loud, and the vocals are rough edged without sounding forced or fake. I love this disc, hope the Rockin' Daddies will record more like it.
