Welcome to Big Lever, Wyoming, home of Bosso Enterprises. In “Drive Safe” you discover our story revolves around a hitchhiker, “The Last Free Indian,” whose travels introduce him to the land of the “Corporate Man,” a place where you’ll want an “Office Job” that leads to a questionable “Portfolio.” It’s no “Easy Riff;” in fact it’s a “Heavy Load,” “Comanchero.” But otherwise you’ll end up “Hungry and High” with “Nobody and Nothin’.” You could as well live in a “Mink Ranch.”
The album explores the idea of independence in a world of corporate domination. The songs feature poetic lyrics that tell stories, combined with well-crafted musical structures that move, develop and resolve. Each one is unique, without being bizarre. So hitch a ride with Rockthrow through Mud Flap County. It’s a slice of life that will make you want to “Cast Off Your TVs” and ride a little further. (And with two CDs featuring 100 minutes of music, they’re pretty generous with their time!)

Big Lever -- Rck Opera in the making
author: Publisher Zyxalon Press
Kevin 'Bosso' Brixius's lyrics create a familiar and yet legendary town, Big Lever. Like a reflection of everything I learned from looking out the station wagon window as a kid on road trips with the family, the stories reflect a wide and yet homey mid-western experience that is haunting and familiar. Brixius mixes in a playful lilt in the sarcasm of his lyrics that hits just the right nostalgic note of hay rides on tractors driven by tired cowboys and rural dandies caught up short by the dearth of opportunities in their small towns. The traditional note of owing one's soul to the company store rings loud and clear. Instrumental highlights by talented guest musician punctuate the steady flow of tunes that never bog down, thank to a variety of beats. Injustice weaves through the ballads, yet humor wins out. The tune: The Last Free Indian echoes like an anthem. Epic stuff.
