Album Notes

Echoes is the third release from saxello-soprano saxophonist Rocky Gordon, available from the indie jazz label Misata.

The growth of this emerging artist is evident as he continues to explore modern funk, hip-hop, and salsa grooves supported by his very hookish, memorable melodic compositions. And without sacrificing the integrity of the music, Rocky bears down on several selections with some very fine jazz soloing.

Backed by a superb line-up of studio musicians, including guest vocalists 15 year-old Mikalah Gordon, and Sherry Roussin, this album offers up one of the most diverse collections of songs, many dedicated to Rocky's childhood roots from Philadelphia (Tower Theater, 69th Street, Upper Darby Park).

If you've followed the path of this solo artist's first two CDs, Song Painting and Perfect World, you will definitely want to add Echoes to your music library.
