This cd has stayed in my cd player for almost 2 months. It took a couple of listens to get it, but when I did, it definately was an experience. Track 3 'the Sound of Birds" is my favorite. It just seems to keep going into new territories. The different instruments on the album are very refreshing. It's one of those albums that you listen to by yourself. People won't catch the vibe for about 100 years, but when they do, it will be ' new classical'. Can't wait for more.

the guitar and microphone are very much recepticals through which to translate a specific emotion. the lyrics are run-on-sentences of consciousness in motion. the music carries them like a river carries sediment... step back from the song as a whole, and it's a beautiful delta. jon's talent is translation. emotion to music. both sides: re-presentation of emotion, sure... but a felt re-presentation, as opposed to purely contrived. his guitar is the most unique sound to come in a long time, and i might add my favorite. do you want to be a pilot? that's the best song. this rut is the best experience. great cd. takes a close and patient listener. it's not about shallow pop songs, but it's not beyond accessibility. go see him!!!!

i believe this album is one of those rare works of musical art that is completely honest & original.
the lyrics & flow of music have a lot of power & intimacy in them...every second of it is beautifully done.
