Glen Roethel is a very dangerous man. He’ll make you think about love again. You’ll smile. You won’t be able to help it.
How do you get through your day? How do you feel when everything is out of your control? Are you even in control of anything?
From Beginning to End is a musical Serenity Prayer. What’s really important in life?
This: The love of a little girl for her father. Together we all feed a single flame. Learn from everything, regret nothing. Go ahead, dream a little.
This CD has it all: fantastic songs, great vocals, talented, real musicians and a huge dose of positivity. It’s truly taken me to a beautiful place.

THIS is the record that AC radio has been waiting for for the past five years.
Brilliantly produced by Steve Young, Ely Joseph, and Glen Roethel- Mr. Roethel's CD deserves an even more honorable mention, in my humble opinion, as being one of the best acoustic pop records that I've ever heard PERIOD. "From Beginning to End" is a milestone album that deserves its rightful place amongst 2004's most impressive folk / rock efforts.
In fact, a lot can be said for Roethel's wonderful singing voice and harmonic instincts on this otherwise sumptuous collection of songs. With each listen, I hear little bits and pieces of Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Dave Matthews Band, Bob Denver, and Neil Young... yet all of it seems to fit together nicely like this huge, colorful jigsaw puzzle with Roethel's unique signature on it.
There are definitely more than just a handful of highlights on "From Beginning to End". The opening title track, in particular, is obviously no exception- a driving beat and swaying melody conveying Roethel's sense of contentment with both himself and the world around him; "Counting Sheep" is an earthy, chugging Dave Matthews Band-like sermon whose main goal is to swirl around in your head for days on end after just a single listen; "You Can Change" serves as a reassuring gospel-influenced piece that can practically convert even the most cynical of life's pessimistic critics; "Rainbow" is an upbeat and single-worthy tip of the hat to diversity amidst solidarity; the ghost of Daryl Hall (when he was actually considered cool and sans his lil' buddy Oates at one point) makes a welcome return in Roethel's songwriting on the gorgeous, soul-tinged ode to "Daughter"; "Amanecer" and "Namaste'" each respectfully showcase his apparent affection for organic Neo-Latin and Eastern-influenced music; and "Bedtime Story" ends the record on a sweet, poignant note destined to pull at your heartstrings and ultimately make you clamor for more.
All in all, it's an uplifting set of songs that are meant to, in Roethel's words on the back cover, "...touch and heal the heart". And that's EXACTLY what they'll do to yours.
