Album Notes

The songs were composed when mood and inspiration took me, usually prompted by an experience, situation or meeting with someone. My compositions are manifestations of self indulgent pleasure, and when others enjoy them, it is most rewarding.

The lyrics are generally laced with a sense of light hearted irony and humour.

I'd like to thank human nature, love, laughter, death and all the human subjects, without which none of these songs would have been possible. Also my brain cell for not crashing, ground coffee, and the madness of the full moon that give the sentiment and endearment in the lyrics that certain edge.

Dear Roger, I enjoyed your CD, ‘All My Own Work’, because it contains some nice touches of humour, observational, particularly on such tracks as ‘Benedicte’, ‘With You In Australia’ and ‘Now Just You Promise Me’. This is rare, and when you hear as many lyrics as I do that are all too busy trying to be arty and clever, extremely refreshing. Nice variety of guitar styles in the playing, again the lack of effects and tricks allows the playing to stand out, and the songs to be heard. Keep up the good work. Best wishes, Ian Peterson.
