Ro Hasegawa

student at Kansai University in early 90's.The participation in Billy
Higgins' Workshop was one of a turning point that made him convinced to
pursuit the career in jazz music. After graduated from Kansai University,
he established his local presence as a saxophonist and performed regularly
with his mentor, Mitsuru Nishiyama (bassist) and other local artists as well
as leading his own group, Lo4 (quartet) and Ro-Chestra (a 14 piece big
band).

Introduced by Nishiyama, he had studied with Milt Jackson, Kenny Barron,
Hank Jones, and Ralph Moore. These particular encounters made his mind and
set him off to the United States. Moved to New York in 1999, he attended at
Brooklyn Conservatory of Music given an opportunity studying with Melvin
Smith, Ohada Tarmor, Enos Paine, Terence Conley, Helen Sun, and Sean Moran.
