“A truly unique, poly-genre, musical experience”
Born from the mountains in Summit County Colorado, Rojos Calientes creates a unique, poly-genre blend of music. Each member of Rojos Calientes draws from their individual backgrounds to invent a new stitch in the Bluegrass/Americana/Folk blanket of music. This stitch can simply be defined as “Latin Grass” or “Red Grass”. The most interesting story belongs to Raul Quintanilla. Born and raised in the Peruvian mountain town of Cuzco, Raul’s Spanish lyrics put the Latin in Latin Grass.
Though defined as Latin Grass, Rojos Calientes is never confined within this genre. Do not be surprised to hear a hint of Blues, Jazz, Gypsy Swing, Rock, R&B, or a tease of Bach.
Raul Quintanilla: Guitar & Vocals
Mike Huberman: Mandolin, Washboard & Vocals
Angie Janzen: Viola & Vocals
Ryan Blizzard: Upright Bass
