Album Notes

CAUGHT ESCAPING is a graphic description of the music on this CD. It was recorded live with a few added overdubs of guitar or violin. The influences vary from African rhythm and Latin percussion, all with a jazz sensibility based on the blues. The effect is best described as an imaginary voyage to exotic destinations, both chilled out and stimulating at the same time.
ROLF KEMPF is probably best known for his rock anthem, "Hello, Hurray", recorded by Alice Cooper on Billion Dollar Babies and included on Greatest Hits. His style has evolved into an eclectic jazz and world music exploration based on live performance recording. He continues to perform and record in and around Vancouver, BC, Canada.
