Album Notes

Two years after Alexei and Channy Moon Casselle began weekly busking performances at the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market under the name Roma di Luna, they proudly celebrate the release of their second recording and their first full-length album entitled Find Your Way Home (self-released/2007).
The husband and wife duo’s debut The Face of My Friends EP (2006/self-released) received modest, yet notable praise, garnering a local buzz, steady local radio play and a spot on some top ten lists of the year’s best local albums (The Onion A.V. Club, Star Tribune). The disc featured seven original tracks of old-timey style minor key ballads that sounded like home recordings with bare minimum accompaniment. The duo’s voices along with Channy’s violin and Alexei’s guitar made up the foundation of the recording, which kept true to the couple’s live performances.
If Face of My Friends was a pleasant introduction to Roma di Luna’s sound then Find Your Way Home is an invitation to wander much further into the stories and scenery that were only hinted at in the previous collection of songs. The record features twelve new tracks, eleven originals and a cover of Neutral Milk Hotel’s “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea” which concludes the powerful and vibrant vision that has been created within this album.
Recorded and co-produced by Ben Durrant at Crazy Beast Studio (Andrew Bird, Dosh), the album features am assortment of instruments and musicians, but the songs still remain completely intimate, sparse and true to the essence of heart-wrenching song that Roma di Luna first captured its audience with.

This is one of those CD's that you go back to over and over, and never tire. Truly beautiful music, with haunting lyrics. The intimate sound results in a powerful experience. I have turned all my friends on to this band and this CD in particular. It is absolutely one of my most favorite albums, and I suggest buying it now and then seeing them in concert!

Stunning ballads...

Channys voice is so beautiful, especailly in "Plenty". She begins singing without any instruments. Leaving ones imagination, yearning the dust ridden hills of Appalachia.
